The business that has helped raise our family, that has served and taught the Ottawa area for over 47 years, was preparing to close up shop in July. With the current owner Brian Bloomfield’s health declining and the hardships of COVID-19, uncertainty got the best of us.
Since July my partner Andrew Lacelle and I have fought hard to continue on my families legacy. It’s been a trying month with many questions. But we asked all the right people. We are so proud and thrilled to announce that we are now the proud owners of Artistic Cake Design!
My name is James Bloomfield, I am the son of Brian Bloomfield and grandson to Artistic Cake Design founder Russel Bloomfield. I have been a decorator here for 5 years now and I have seen first hand how cake can make a moment. It’s the centerpiece to a grand gesture for the people we love and support. I’ve seen it in community celebrations my entire life… and if the sugar doesn’t get my heart going right now, that sense of congregation that we all miss so very much definitely will. We have an amazing team working with Andrew and I to adapt to these difficult times. We are looking forward to making more moments with you as we grow and adapt together!

So so glad that you both have decided to take this on. My family life has been more than appreciative all these years with the exceptional flavourful cakes that has been at all our special occasions or just because we wanted a cake. We’ve had your grandfathers cakes to your dad’s (Brian) cakes. I recall as a child my mom taking decorating classes with Brian. Thank you!! Thank you!! For continuing in their footsteps and making our family events as special as they have always been with an Artistic cake at all events!
i have ordered the Nike running shoe from you guys in November . My youngest son Johnnys birthday is coming up on Jan.21st. He would like a basketball court design.aAny ideas for this one .Let me know if you could send me some pictures that would be great!
