Introduction to Cake Decorating

About this experience

DECO-1 Foundations is where everyone begins their cake decorating journey with us. Laying the foundation for everything you need to know to build the muscle memory required for consistent pipe work. We teach fast and efficient techniques with emphasis on correct posture and handling for stability while piping (great for shakey artists). This course highlights practical use of your tools and how to use them over thoery. Artistic Cake Design values play in the kitchen, we believe perfectionism is a creativity killer so please expect to come to this introductory course ready to make mistakes! Completion of DECO-1 opens up future classes, demos and events with us!


Here's what the course includes:



  • Cake Decorating Tool Kit

    • 3 Piping Bags, 4 Tips, 3 Couplers

    • Small Spatula, Small Offset Spatula

    • 2 1/2lbs of Buttercream)



  • 8" Round Iced Cake


    • Your choice of: Vanilla, Chocolate, Marble



  • 6-Hours of Practice & Instruction (Includes Lunch-Break)

    • Flat Ice Demo with Recipe

    • Drawing in Buttercream

    • Piping Roses, Rose Buds, Leaves

    • 5 Rose Floral Sprays

    • Decorating Positions



  • 1 hour Lunch Break 


 


The Course will begin at 10am on the Saturday and end around 4pm.
